Nicol has been babysitting our two children : boy (4y) and girl (6y) by now for over three years and our kids and we just love her! Nicol has been playing with the kids, inside and outside. She has been reading books to them and cared for them always according to their needs. Nicol managed our children very well, although our boy can be very wild. Nicol is consistent in her reactions, fair, and friendly. Nicol has made food to our children and found her way nicely through our kitchen. She even left the kitchen cleaned afterwards. In the beginning our boy used diapers and those she changed, even more important later on when he didn’t use diaper but during potty training time she supported us during the lots of accidents that happened and cleaned. Last but not least an relevant issue, Nicol has always been on time and did always stick to planned appointments.

Before starting your search, take a little time to figure out what your needs are. Full-time support? Part-time care? On-call help? Make a wish list of necessary and preferred characteristics so you can apply the right filters to our web tool.

First things first – message the prospective babysitter or nanny about any past childcare experience they may have, and ask about references from prior families. Then you can check in with the other parents to see what their impression was of the sitter.

Then, you might consider offering a higher rate of pay to keep things fair if you’re asking for any help with things like tutoring or chores around the house - or if you know your kids can be a handful for even the most patient of sitters!
